A Hands-on Program for High School Girls

Short presentations place culinary art, home health, fashion and interior design in a cultural and philosophical perspective, followed by hands-on skill building sessions.

Sessions include:

  • Ethnic cuisines
  • Baking and pastry
  • Nutrition
  • Machine sewing
  • Chronic care
  • Preparing a sick tray
  • Entertaining at home
  • Design and color theory
  • Culture and history of fashion
  • Cleanliness and a healthy environment
  • Table decor and dining room management

One-an-one discussions, designed to help students develop an eye for the needs of others, to apply the skills they are learning to their own unique circumstances, and to grow their confidence and enthusiasm for living a life of service.

conferenceArt of Living Conference

Art of Living participants have the opportunity to attend a weekend long annual conference held either at Arnold Hall Conference Center (Pembroke, Massachusetts) or Shellbourne Conference Center (Valparaiso, Indiana). The conference consists of competitions and seminars on Art of Living topics.

Competitions include:

  • The Laundry Challenge
  • Dare to Repair
  • Be Our Guest
  • Skills Gallery
  • Great Cakes

Registration:

The Art of Living meets on Saturday’s of the month from 12:30 – 3:30pm.
